Georgia O'Keeffe

The art exhibit I chose to visit was the The Van Vechten nervous impulse at Fisk University. The artwork and artist that Im whirl to discuss is by Georgia OKeeffe named The Radiator Building, Night 1927. The reason why I chose this artwork is because it reminds me of unfermented York reason human race is that this word-painting is of the American Radiator Building located in Manhattan bracing York. Georgia OKeeffe was born to a Francis Calyxtus OKeeffe and Ida Totto OKeeffe on November 15, 1887 near Sun Prairie Wisconsin. OKeeffe enrolled at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1905 and two years later attended the Art Students union in New York City and studied under William Merritt Chase. In her early years she taught in schools and colleges. While she was teaching in Amarillo, Texas it is believed she gained her infatuation with the terra in of the Southwest. In 1916 Alfred Stieglitz , her soon to be husband, gave her the opportunity to backsheesh her artwork in his gallery the 291. And in 1917 he gave OKeeffe her first solo parade.
